The Position 
As Director, Corporate Integration, you will become part of the Corporate Integration team, working on the planning, execution, and daily activities of live integrations of companies and assets acquired by Novo Nordisk. You will also be a key contributor in our efforts to continue strengthening capabilities across Novo Nordisk where our ambition is to build an industry-leading integration practice.

 

You will work cross-functionally with key leaders from all parts of the Novo Nordisk value chain, as well as leaders, stakeholders and employees within the acquired organisation to ensure the value preservation of Novo Nordisk acquisitions.  Your results will contribute to securing long-term success of acquired innovations, companies, and organisations, and ultimately to a growing offering of therapies and solutions to people living with chronic diseases world-wide. 

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Manage planning and execution of the integration of business development opportunities (asset and company acquisitions), as part of an Integration
  • Management Office for each project. Tasks include for example integration strategy design, onboarding of integration team, driving integration-specific due diligence, setting up the integration management office (IMO), and coordinating overall work from pre-deal to IMO phase-out
  • Be the daily program lead for other project managers assigned to the integration project
  • Drive key sub-projects overseen by the Integration Management Office during live integrations such as operating model design and benefit realisation
  • Ensure efficient communication with relevant (senior) stakeholders 
  • Help ensure operational excellence across all PMI activities
  • Lead strategic and process improvement projects to establish the capability for M&A integrations within Novo Nordisk, in collaboration with team members and in this effort represent Corporate Integration as a subject matter expert towards both internal and external stakeholders
        

Qualifications
To be a competitive candidate, you should have:

  • A M.A./M.Sc. degree with content focus on e.g., international business, stakeholder management, strategy, project managementor life sciences 
  • Knowledge of the pharma value chain and business and preferably have relevant experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology organisations
  • A demonstrated track record within business development, M&A and post-merger integration 
  • Ability to manage complex projects and thrive in a dynamic project environment
  • A demonstrated ability to build rapport with external partners and internal stakeholders, and leading by influence in a matrix environment
  • A firm understanding of multicultural impact on business relationships including experience in working in an international context and environment
  • Professional proficiency in English

You enjoy taking initiative, working in a dynamic project environment, and can effectively manage multiple projects if required. You have a strong ability to manage and resolve complex issues and bring a can-do attitude. You are a strong communicator, with cultural and emotional intelligence, and demonstrate proactive stakeholder management at all levels. You understand the value of structure and systematization. You like to challenge current perceptions and drive change.


 

Location will be in Denmark (Bagsværd) and up to 15% overnight travel is required to attend on-site meetings at the acquired company location and/or to engage with other Novo Nordisk units in various geographies.

Global Business Development is the business development unit of Novo Nordisk. Here, we gather best-in-class strategists, analysts, dealmakers, and specialists in post-deal management to form a team of future-focused experts. We forge external collaborations and bring in innovation and companies that share our purpose, mission, and values. The Corporate Integration team is part of Integrations & Strategic Alliances in Global Business Development and is responsible for planning and managing all elements of post-merger integrations across the value chain and across therapeutic areas in Novo Nordisk. 

 

The team is involved in the Merger & Acquisition process from due diligence until all key cross-functional elements of integration are completed and steady state run-of-business is achieved.  The role this team plays is essential to Novo Nordisk’s Business Development activities as it has a direct responsibility for ensuring that the value of a corporate acquisition is preserved and matured.
