Project Controller

Do you have a knack for keeping complex financials on track? Join one of the world's largest pharma project portfolios and help ensure that every investment brings life-saving medicines closer to the patients who need them.

Your new role

As our new Project Controller, you will be responsible for managing financials within direct project execution of a large CAPEX project. Working at the intersection of finance and pharmaceutical manufacturing, you'll play a critical role in ensuring cost transparency and control across some of Novo Nordisk's most ambitious construction projects.

Day-to-day your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, creating, monitoring, and executing cost controls across large CAPEX projects
  • Driving cost management, project resource oversight, progress reporting and forecasting
  • Ensuring "house in order" regarding financial and accounting compliance
  • Supplementing your business, finance, and accounting knowledge with broad technical knowledge within pharmaceutical production
  • Building a broad network across Novo Nordisk with regular contact with many different areas of the business to govern solutions within the projects
  • Navigating a dynamic and sometimes fast-paced working environment where priorities can shift rapidly

Your new department

In Global Manufacturing & Supply, we cover the full value chain from drug and device development to marketed Novo Nordisk products. We are more than 30,000 colleagues across the globe with the shared responsibility of scaling molecules, processes, devices, and products, dedicated to supplying life-saving medicines to the patients who need them most.

You will join the team of GMS Project Controls & Governance supporting the largest construction projects across the API organisation. The department consists of five teams where the culture is open, engaged, curious and inclusive. Our team of 30 people is diverse, committed to continuous learning, and thrives on collaboration. Presence on site in Kalundborg is expected 3 days per week.

Your skills & qualifications

We're looking for a Project Controller who is curious, detail-oriented and structured and someone who can maintain the broad overview while keeping a sharp eye on the specifics. You'll bring with you:

  • A master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Project Management or Business
  • 1-2 years of practical cost controlling experience, preferably from large CAPEX projects (could also be from a student position)
  • Broad knowledge in executing step-by-step cost controlling, including creating and forecasting project budgets and costs
  • The ability to work independently across a broad stakeholder landscape and translate complex financial issues into clear communication for upper management
  • Fluency in English (Danish language skills are advantageous)
  • Previous experience from working in a GMP-regulated industry is a plus, but not required
